Musicsafe Pro Ear plugs - disappointingReview date: 2010-08-06 Rating: 4 out of 10I bought a set of these to see if they were a better bet than the Etymotic Eesearch ER15 earplugs that I have been using. I'm a live sound engineer and often use earplugs as I'm packing up (my band has finished and the DJ has come on!)
They seem to work well enough and being able to adjust the different attenuation levels by fitting the different inserts is good. I'm not sure how flat the attenuation curves are though and the Silver and Gold ones do take out a lot of the HF.
The major flaw is that the whole item is very short - when you get them adequately seated in your ears it's virtually impossible to extract them using fingers alone! The little plastic insertion tool is of little use for getting them out either, and you have to use tweezers or long nose pliers (from my gig toolbox) to pluck them out. Hardly ideal! This is a major shortcoming and explains why I do not use these any more. I've gone back to my ER15s which have a longer stalk so are no problem to insert and extract.

Seem to do the job!Review date: 2010-06-07 Rating: 10 out of 10Bought these for my son who tells me they work. A further good point is he says they are comfortable (they can be trimmed to fit ear better). My second pair of Alpines :)Review date: 2010-04-27 Rating: 10 out of 10I like these a lot
Quality
Comfort
Portability - I got a tube with a keyring with the pack (no need to open my gig bag or look for them)
50% extra free lol - One extra. This applied to my previous Alpines which I lost. Now guess what? I didn't lose the spare one and now I still have two pairs even though I lost one pair and because with this pack I got the keyring tube and the case they can both be stored hygenically.
I wouldn't get anything else.
Only downside is that you really do have to speak LOUD when wearing them until you get used to it.
No good for meReview date: 2010-02-24 Rating: 2 out of 10The stem on these plugs is small. They come with an inserter to get them into the ear which I found next to useless. Having manually inserted a plug I found that the portion remaining outside the ear canal, that you must grasp for removal, was tiny. The filter, that you insert into the stem and that determines the level of protection, became detached and I had to employ tweezers to remove the plug from the ear canal. For a while I thought I was going to have to attend casualty before heading off to my gig. Badly designed and for me a complete waste of money.Excellent ear plugsReview date: 2009-09-28 Rating: 8 out of 10These ear plugs are comfortable and fit well. They give good clarity when listening to music, although there is a small dropoff of the higher frequencies.
An important advantage over similar ear plugs (e.g. Elacins) is that they can be trimmed to size if you don't want so much of the 'stalk' to be visible.
They come in a useful plastic case that attaches to a key fob. It would be even more useful if the carrying case was slightly smaller, though.
