Excellent fun and valueReview date: 2008-09-14 Rating: 10 out of 10I have always fancied playing the drums but the noise and size of an acoustic set has always put me off. When I saw the Medeli electronic kit for less than £100 I thought I would give it a go. The kit comes with drum sticks, 2x foot pedals for bass drum and high hat and adjustable height metal stand which is very well made and makes it easy to play the kit whilst seated. The kit features several preset 'kits' based on the style of music and one customisable kit which allows you to assign all seven pads and pedals individual 'sounds'. The sounds are incredible and with the headphones jack makes it possible to play in relative silence whilst not upsetting the neighbours! MIDI IN and OUT connections are also provided for the more experienced musician. Lots of practice songs are included and there is a 'learning mode' and record function allowing you to save your performances.
PROS - Excellent sounds with unlimited programmable kit possibilities
- Superb progressive response from the pads (hit it hard to get a louder sound..)
- Good quality build.
- Very good value when compared against the other models on the market (Yamaha etc)
CONS - Unable to program loudness of individual pads.
- Foot pedals very sensitive and easy to command a sound twice
